Lowell Ntl Historic Park ... after church

We went to a lovely small church just down the road from the campground. It was an American Baptist church and, interestly, they have a woman minister. She was great and all of the people were very friendly.

After church we went back to Lowell to hit the Industrial Revolution History Park. It is very interesting. The have a cool trolley that takes you from the Visitor Center to the mill building. We had longer to check out the mill where they still have the looms operating. There was also a boarding house where the young farm girls/women would stay when they worked at the mill. They worked about 14 hours a day 5 days a week and then 1/2 a day on Saturday. In the boarding house, they had curfew and very tight chaperoning. The mills were four stories tall and went on for miles. It was so interesting.

Off to Salem and witches tomorrow !
