Thibodaux Mardi Gras Parade

More parade, more beads, more fun ! There were actually two back to back parades in Thibodaux today. We had a great time with Earl and Vardell (friends of Chuck & Pam) and their family. It's amazing to me that these people live in the same area as their parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. All of the many brothers and sisters are in the same area also. When the parade would pass with someone on the float that was related or knew the people on the street, bags and bags of beads were thrown. Vardell received a very special bead necklace with a cool mardi gras mask on it from her grandson on one of the floats.

We finally got out of town about 5 pm but luckily we only had about 80 or 90 miles to drive today. We didn't get in until about 7:30 pm but it didn't take long to get set up. We will stay here in Duson because all of the RV parks and hotel in Eunice were completely full for Mardi Gras. We will drive up to Eunice and Mamou tomorrow for the street dances and festivities. Then Tuesday more partying for the actual Mardi Gras. Whew, we are getting too old for this.
