Whew, we had a long day yesterday. The tour bus picked us up at 8:15 at the RV park. We didn't get home until almost 7 pm. We went to downtown LA although compared to eastern cities it really doesn't have very much of a tall building skyline. It's more just sprawled all over. We saw Olvera Street where the first church and fire station are still standing. Then we went to Hollywood and Beverly Hills. LA is the funniest place because you will going by some not very nice looking buildings and just normal street mall sorts of things and within just a couple of blocks is the most expensive property in the world.

Hollywood is definitely nothing very special looking even the parts that you see on tv all the time. The bus let us off on Hollywood Boulevard. There we saw Grauman's Chinese Theatre with the handprints and footprints in the cement. There were some really old ones like Greta Garbo and Elizabeth Taylor and some new ones like the kids from Harry Potter. There were tons of stars in the sidewalk down Hollywood Blvd on both sides of the street. It was interesting to read all of the names.

Then we went to The Farmer's Market next to the CBS complex. There were tons of places to eat. It was hard to make up our minds. Walking up the courtyard from Farmer's Market was The Grove which was filled with expensive stores and little carts with items for sale. It had a cute little trolley car that ran from one end of the "street" to the other. The funnest part was people watching. You saw everything. About 1/2 the people were tourists (always an interesting group) and then there people that looked like executives from CBS or the area dressed in very expensive clothes. It's funny but even Donnie & I can tell a $2000 suit when we see one. Then there were just the strange folks... although there certainly were some good looking people walking around.

Then the bus took us out to Santa Monica Pier. We enjoyed a stroll out the pier and then ate crab, shrimp, oysters and clams before getting on the bus to take us home. We were exhausted.

We got a little girl in the RV park to take Magic out for a walk a couple of times during the day but needless to say he was very glad to see us after 11 hours.
