Easy travel day, causeway across the lake

We had an easy day today. The start of the causeway across Lake Pontchartrain was only about 4 miles from the state park. The causeway was kind of bouncy so we couldn't go very fast. It was amazing though..... there was water as far as you could see in every direction. That is one big lake.

We got all settled at the KOA for the next 5 nights. We will head into New Orleans French Quarter tomorrow. Then I think on Saturday we will go up the River Road to see some old plantation houses. There are lots and lots of them. For some reason, most of the houses are original and were not destroyed during the Civil War. Guess Sherman's troop were busy in South Carolina and Georgia.
