Visits with the nieces in Phoenix area

I didn't realize that I missed posting yesterday. The internet connection is a problem out here. I have connection but I can't reply to email or post pictures or email any attachments at all. Strange.

On Saturday we drove into Mesa to see our niece Sheri who is in the hospital. She was actually better that what we were expecting and we had an excellent visit. I thought that we might try to see her again today or maybe to see Desta (I can't spell her name right to save my life). But we went to Sunday School and church this morning at a little tiny Baptist church here in Stanfield AZ (town of about 200 or so). It was a nice service even though there were just a few folks there... but we can do small ! They seemed very glad to see us.

Saturday night we went to a local Indian casino that had an all you can eat seafood buffet. It was delicious and our great nephew Tim and his girlfriend came out to dinner also.

Today after church, we (not Donnie) went horseback riding on my nieces horses. They have 5 horses. It was a great time. Then we watched football all afternoon. It was fun being in Arizona to watch the Cardinals win the playoff game.

We will take off tomorrow for Tucson which is only about 50 miles away. We will stay there for a few days I think and then try to figure out how to get to Carlsbad Caverns without crossing any mountains.

So far, I highly recommend retirement. This is fabulous. !! Hopefully, I'll be back within range of decent internet tomorrow and can post some pictures.

How fun it must have been to be in Arizona when the Cardinals are going to the Superbowl! It seems like it would be like Utah, when the Jazz go big. I like the Kurt Warner story too. Travel safely.
