Fun day. We drove out to Port Isabel and South Padre Island. Didn't find too much to interest us on South Padre. We sort of checked out a county RV park on the very southern tip of the island. It looked pretty nice but we will go on to North Padre where we can stay for $4.
We went back to Port Isabel and ate at a seafood restaurant there. Worked out pretty good. We ordered a big mixed seafood platter to share. We had enough food left over for dinner for both of us. The lighthouse was nice but we skipped to climb to the top. There was a cold front blowing in and it made both of us ache. We also stopped at Palo Alta Battlefield National Historic site. There was a battle between US and Mexican armies back in 1846. It was pretty interesting.
All in all an interesting day. Tomorrow we are taking the dog to Petsmart for a haircut. We won't be very popular for that.
