Balmorhea State Park Texas
We got into the state park quite early. I didn't realize that they had this artesian spring fed pool. This place is out in the middle of nowhere in west Texas so very dry and desert around. This artesian spring puts out 1 million gallons of water every hour. Amazing.
The water coming out of the spring into the pool stays at 72 - 76 degrees all the time. I went over and swam for about 1/2 hour. It was great although a little disconcerting to have little fish swim by while you are swimming laps. There are also ducks in the pool. The pool is half pool and half river or lake.... very unusual.
On toward San Antonio tomorrow.
