Tombstone

We had a great time in Tombstone today. Took a trolley around town to get a feel for what was where. The whole town is, of course, commercialized but there is nothing else around to keep it alive so that seems fair enough. The re-enactment of the gunfight at the OK Corral is inside of some walls so that you have to pay admission to get in. But the cost is reasonable and they do a good re-enactment which leaves you wondering who where the good guys and who were the bad.

We ate lunch in the Crystal Palace which is the original building. Morgan Earp (Wyatt's brother) was shot on the street outside of the the place in 1882. We walked all over town. Went to the Tombstone Courthouse which is now a state park museum, the Tombstone Epitaph office (the city paper) which has some great old printing presses, and the Bird Cage Theatre.

We will go back tomorrow to take the Bird Cage Theatre tour and visit Boot Hill. We were just too tired to manage it today. Can't seem to get the pictures to load. I'll try again later.
