Truck trouble

Bummer. Donnie noticed that the truck temperature was kind of hot when we stopped last night. After we thought that over, it seemed very strange since it was a very cool day and no steep grades. When we started out from the cute little state park where we stayed the night, the truck immediately got hot. When we got back to the freeway, Donnie tried adding anti-freeze and water to the radiator but that didn't help at all. Luckily, there was a little RV park right there so we dropped the trailer off there. We found a Dodge dealer in Council Bluffs (about 45 miles away) that could fit us in to see what the problem was. We called the tow truck and had the truck towed into town. We waited all afternoon at the shop but they weren't able to get it fixed before the end of the day.

There was a Hertz car rental next door to the dealership so we rented a car for the day to get us back out to the trailer. So we are all cuddled up in our little house for the night. It is very cold, rainy and windy here right now but is supposed to improve a lot after tomorrow. Maybe this was God's way of keeping us off the highway for a couple of days while the weather calms down.

So, we won't make it home by May 1 but hopefully, they will get the truck fixed tomorrow so we will have lost just a couple of days.
