Florida Keys

We are camped at a site right on the ocean southwest of Key Largo. The wind was blowing really hard so we drove on into Key West (about 65 miles). We walked around the historic harbor distric and ate lobster, oysters and shrimp looking out on the harbor. We got to drive by a bunch of the old historic buildings in the town but didn't get to stop and look at much. It was very crowded and not much parking... not very disabled friendly but fun anyway.

Even with the wind, it is so gorgeous here. Donnie and I were saying that it's like driving to Hawaii. The water is the most beautiful shades of blue and turquoise. You go up on these long bridges (one 7 miles long) and when you look out you can see the Gulf of Mexico on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other side. We were still hoping to take a glass bottom boat but I think that the ocean is still going to be too rough with the wind. Oh, well... guess we will just have to suffer thru here in paradise.
